New Directions Search has developed a thorough, systematic, team-based process to carefully identify and assess business leaders in order to provide the right leader for the right time.

Throughout the search, a New Directions Search principal serves as your primary point of contact, and communicates regularly to support a successful partnership with your hiring team.

Step 1: Create
The search process begins with a clear understanding of the general business environment and specific leadership challenges facing our client. We partner with the hiring executive, the human resources executive and other members of the hiring team to carefully identify the leadership profile required. Our extensive groundwork helps us to identify the right kind of leader for the specific position and to build a profile that will attract the successful leader to this new opportunity.

Step 2: Research
Three New Directions Search Principals, the Director of Information Technology and the Director of Search Services work together as a team to develop the strategic search plan.

Step 3: Mobilize
Once a complete position profile is prepared in partnership with our client, we conduct a comprehensive, systematic and targeted candidate search. Utilizing our business intelligence, state-of-the-art technology, extensive executive networks and proprietary databases, we identify dynamic, talented business leaders that fit the profile requirements.

Step 4: Assess
After potential candidates have been identified, a continuous assessment process begins, including an in-depth interview by a principal in which functional competencies, industry fit, cultural fit, and leadership skills are assessed. Before a candidate is recommended to our client, a face-to-face meeting is scheduled to further evaluate core competencies, executive presence, personality and communications skills. Degree verifications and reference checks complete the initial evaluation process.

Step 5: Recommend
After careful assessment by the team, a slate of candidates is selected. All information regarding the candidates is then forwarded to our client and arrangements are made for on site interviews. New Directions facilitates the entire process, handling all communication with the candidates regarding the logistics of all meetings.

Step 6: Facilitate
Once a final candidate is selected, we consult with both our client and the candidate through the final offer process until a successful conclusion is reached.
